What Are You :: Appearance

Jounouchi is, at 5'10", a fairly tall, skinny (though rather well-built) young man with dark brown eyes. His hair is bright blond, with very thick bangs that somehow manage to stick out several inches in front of his head and long-ish hair in the back that extends into a slight rat's tail. When he is brought in, his outfit consists of a white short-sleeved shirt with a dark blue rectangle on the front and slightly lighter blue sleeves, which each have a white rectangle on them, a pair of plain blue jeans, a pair of sneakers (one of which has a hole cut into it – though Jounouchi doesn't know the cause, it was from a knife that stabbed it during a game involving ten coins and a scorpion), and a necklace with a dog tag hanging off of it.

What Are You Like :: Personality

In general, Jounouchi has a rather good outlook on life, regardless of everything difficult he's been through. As long as he doesn't have a reason to distrust someone, he's outgoing and friendly with most people, even if he has a bit of a tough-guy attitude when he feels like it. With those who have given him reason to distrust them, Jounouchi brings out a somewhat rude side and has been known to have quite a fierce temper that can be easily provoked. When something interests him, he often becomes quite passionate about it, dropping most other things to focus on the one task at hand. He is also fiercely protective of his friends and has been known to even risk his own life for their sakes.

What Can You Do :: Abilities and Strengths

Physically, Jounouchi has had a lot of experience with street fighting. He can hold his own in a fist fight, and he has been known for his powerful, door-shattering kicks on occasion. He also knows some other handy tricks picked up off the street such as picking locks. He's also got an insanely large amount of stamina, both physically and mentally. After all, over the course of a single 24-hour period, he broke free of a brainwashing, nearly drowned, got struck by lightning, watched a good friend of his get put into a magical coma that would kill her, found out that he and Kaiba essentially share a soul, and participated in a game where he felt his monsters' pain when they were killed. And yet not only did he come out of that alive, but he came out of it sane.

In terms of his dueling, Jounouchi has come a long way since he first started playing the game. He has grown into a rather skilled duelist, winning both second place in the Duelist Kingdom tournament and is the only contestant without a God Card to win a spot in the finals of the Battle City tournament. Of course, his skill is accented by – and sometimes relies upon – his amazing luck when it comes to dice, roulettes, and the like.

Being half of the reincarnation of Seth has imbued him with a few unusual abilities. He can sense magical auras, though he can only tell what the aura is if it's a Millennium Item creating it. When he's particularly distracted (for example, highly annoyed at something), he might start accidentally speaking in ancient Egyptian, though he would be unaware that he was speaking irregularly unless someone pointed it out to him. (After he realizes it's happening, he'll be able to have more control over which language he's speaking at any given time, but until then…) He also understands Egyptian writing and speaking, and though he has not yet learned the names of anyone who Seth was closely connected to in the previous life, if he hears one of the names, he will know subconsciously exactly who's being referred to. (In essence, he wouldn't be able to come up with Atem's name on his own, but if someone mentioned that 'Atem did this', he'd know exactly who Atem is.)

At night, Jounouchi sometimes has dreams of his past life, though he will barely remember them when he awakens. When he comes into close proximity with one of the Millennium Items, however (the range depending on the item involved – for example, while the Millennium Rod would do this if the two of them were in the same room, he would have to be actually wearing the Millennium Puzzle before it would take effect), he receives clear visions of his past life which he is able to recall again whenever he wants to think them over.

What Are Your Failings :: Weaknesses

Jounouchi's most glaring weakness is the fact that, even being half of the reincarnation of an Egyptian priest, he is still only a human, and is therefore affected by everything that any normal human is affected by. Also, his temper has been known to get the better of him, as has his tendency to leap before he looks, overlooking important details, especially when he gets passionate about something.

If Jounouchi were to attempt to handle the Egyptian God Cards, though he is the reincarnation of the priest Seth, they would be rather likely to not listen to him. They wouldn't retaliate against him, but they wouldn't feel inclined to listen to his commands unless one of the other ones with connections was to ask them to. Not that Jounouchi would find this to be much of a weakness even if he ever discovered it, but it should be pointed out.

Also, quite frankly, the whole him and Kaiba being the reincarnations of the same person thing is still rather new to him, and though he tries not to show it, it's one thing that can make him rather insecure at times.

What Have You Gathered :: Notable Possessions

Jounouchi carries one standard-issue Kaiba Corporation Duel Disk, worn on his left arm, as well as his deck of Duel Monsters cards. Said deck has somewhat of a theme to it of luck and chance, with his Angel Dice, Devil Dice, and Time Wizard, among others. It also features cards with a warrior theme, such as the Flame Swordsman, and others that he won from his opponents in Battle City – Psycho Shocker, Insect Queen, and the Legendary Fisherman. (It is important to note that one important card to him, the Red Eyes Black Dragon, is not present in his deck at this time.)
